Name: Thomas Raphael Ashford
Nickname/Alias: Kratos(long story), Anzai(an even longer story), Artemis(the longest story yet)
Gender: male
Age: 19
Height: ~142.24 Cm
Occupation: Trainer
Hometown: Phenac City
Personality: Nobody's going to give you a map, you've got to walk your own path. --Michiyo, a childhood friend of Anzai's, the day before she left his life.
Anzai Tomohisa is the type of person who consciously tries to live his 'own life'. He doesn't wait around for good fortune to fall into his lap or for someone else to tell him what to do, he simply does what he wants to. This doesn't mean that he is impulsive, nor overly willful, he simply does what he wants to do, and he does it at his own pace. This has gotten him in trouble with his teachers and his father at times, but nothing serious.
"Whatever happens from now on, I want you to stand firm and face your destiny without fear but with courage." --The final words of Masahiro, Anzai's Ojii-san Taking his grandfather's last words to heart, Anzai has chosen to face whatever his life throws at him head on, to stand firm and to never shy away from a challenge. Despite his willfulness however, Anzai isn't the type to stand against an unstoppable force if he sees the alternative as acceptable, nor will he abide his standing by if the alternative in unacceptable.
However, while Anzai was claimed as a son by his father, he is actually a futanari, and while he was raised as a male, he did learn several arts commonly associated with the fairer gender with the assistance of his Obaa-san, such as Shamisen and Flower Arrangement.
But despite all his posturing and his outward mannerisms, Anzai is still just a kid at heart. He's shy, and still a bit innocent, he can take a bit to pick up on 'subtle' hints, and likes to build 'Zoids' models. This is the part of himself that he guards the closest, not allowing anyone to see. And while he doesn't fully realize it himself, when he's around someone he likes, he tends to let the nicer, more cheery Anzai reign.
History: Artemis was born in the Orre region. His dad disappeared just one month before he was born. He couldn't start training with pokemon when he was young due to the overall deficit of wild pokemon in that region. As he grew up the one thing he always wondered was what had happened to his father. When he turned ten, his mother got him a very special gift, a pokemon egg that contained his future partner, Abra. A not so pleasant gift was a letter from his father, explaining little about why he had left, or what he had been up to for the past ten years, but instead merely asking if Artemis was ok, and asking him to become a strong pokemon trainer.
One final 'gift' was given to Artemis the next day, it was a letter with no return address, but it was postmarked ten years previous to the day. Contained within the letter was the notification that Artemis's father, Gerald Ashford, was dead. The letter was hand written on a piece of parchment with a stylized "R" where one would normally sign their name. There was also a red R printed in the background of the parchment.
Faced with similar situations, most people would have either left to find out what happed, or morn the loss of their father. Artemis did neither, but instead stayed at home, biding his time until he had enough pull in the world that he could find out what happened. After seven years, Artemis left his home in Orre and traveled with his Abra to the lands known as Hoenn, planning to research teams Aqua and Magma then travel to Kanto or Johto should he find nothing pertaining to his father's death.
Appearance: Anzai is an unusual looking guy, with a child-like face and somewhat triangular eyes; ankle length straight fair hair, and often sports a 'knowing' smile. Both of his ears are of average size with small, unpierced lobes that are connected to the sides of his head. That does not, however, indicate that his ears are unpierced; as even though the lobes are unpierced, the cartilage at the top of the ears are pierced with ring-shaped silver piercings. Anzai's skeletal structure is distinctly(ok, completely) feminine, caused by his female hormone balances. Even his breasts are distinctly feminine, albeit A cups.
Aside from all that, Anzai has soft, fair hair of ankle length, with crystal-blue eyes that some say words cannot describe. He stands 4'8, and with his skeletal-muscular structure, only weighs about 95 lbs. His feet are rather small, and his voice is typically high and light, which helps him masquerade as a female rather well. This further confuses his gender identity though, which is compounded by the fact that he has the genitalia of both genders.
As for the clothing, Anzai tends to wear whatever fits the situation best. Around the house, he tends to wear a simple white Kikogi with black non-split(or skirt-like) Hakama. When he goes out for a short trip, or into the yard, he'll put on a pair of Tatami Zori. However, when he goes out on missions and such, he'll more likely dress in a white Nagajuban under a black Kimono with rather tight fitting pair of black non-split Hakama under the Kimono. When he masquerades as a girl, he'll instead wear a white Yukata with sakura petals that are such a pale pink that they are just barely visible on the white. Though, if it's cold out, he may wear a Kimono with the same design instead.
Pokemon:
Abra
Roleplay Example: ...a black mineral was protruding from the south wall. Rui jumped out of the cockpit and took a pair of binoculars from the Helcar to see what was happening. Pieces of the mineral had been broken off, and seemed to have been refined. And from the looks of things, it had also been used in the construction of the zoid somehow.
A young woman, apparently the leader, stepped into the middle of the floor and talked to one of the engineers before bellowing out to the rest "The ZBC are getting too close to us for comfort. The Descat is finished, so we're pulling out." It was at this point that Rui thought that the woman glanced in her direction, "Everyone, get in your zoids and leave. " Everyone packed up and left to Rui's right, apparently where the exit was. Within moments, Rui was all alone in this underground base.
She ran down the ramp, leaving the Helcat parked up top. The only soul left in the base made a beeline for the mineral. "And where do you think you're going kid?" It was the woman who had been in command of the people here. Rui spun around and reached for the gun hidden in the small of her back, but stopped with her hand frozen on the handle when she saw the other woman had a gun pointed right at our protagonist.
"It's ok kid, I'm not going to hurt you," the woman said as Rui slowly took her hand off the gun, more from the gun pointed at her than from the woman's words. "You must be wondering my name by now, you can call me Amaterasu." The woman, this Amaterasu, said, walking around to Rui's side, taking Rui's gun from the holster and examining it. "Why, this is quite a relic, from the Heliac-Guylos Wars if I'm, not mistaken."
She returned the gun to it's owner and continued speaking. "Now my dear, I've told you my name; would you be so kind as to tell me yours?" She spoke with an almost practiced ease. Rui, on the other hand, wasn't nearly so calm and composed. "I-I'm Rui, Rui Zeal. It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Amateratsu." She said doing a Japanese style bow, her hands clasped in front of her.
"There's no need for the formalities, Rui." Zeal?!, wasn't that one of the offshoots of the ...no, could she be? "Here," Ammy said, handing some sort of card to Rui, "I've got to go now, but use this if you want to know more about us, about, well, you promise to keep this a secret?" Rui nodded. "about Neo-Guylos." Amaterasu said in a hushed voice, turning to leave.
"Wait," Rui called out, "What is this stuff?" she said, indicating the black mineral. "Why that?" the woman paused. "That is Deoricalcum, your birthright. Don't worry, between the card I gave you, and the box, all your questions will be answered in due time." And with that, the woman got back in her zoid and left.
After a few minuets, Rui called the ZBC and told them about the second entrance, and about the Deoricalcum. There was still almost a quarter pound left. That would be enough for any decent lab to analyze. And enough to get her the bonus. But Rui wasn't concerned with that at all when she left in the Helcat to go collect her pay. Birthright, what was she talking about, and what about the box? Could she have been talking about the box under the Helcat's seat? How could she have known. Does my families key have anything to do with it? Does it go with the Box? All of Rui's questions would be answered soon, though the questions still remained: Would she like her answers, and what would she do with them?
