Roleplay Rules
Note: All these rules are still a WIP.
------
General Roleplay Rules
1. Godmoding & powerplaying will not be tolerated. The four-strike ruling will be implemented to anyone committing either of these with their character.
Those with Special Characters, such as Gym Leaders, are to pay particular attention to this rule. Yes, as a Gym Leader or such, your pokemon will be powerful so you'll be difficult to beat. BUT your pokemon cannot be too powerful that no one can beat you at all.
2. That brings us to the next rule. Those with Gym Leaders are to be fair with any and all challenges they get. If they are challenged, they cannot simply turn around and say 'No thanks, I don't feel like it'. Unless they have a damn good reason why they can't accept a challenge, the challenge must be accepted.
3. Those with Special characters that aren't Gym Leaders have a similar rule. If for example your character is a C.S.A. (Cerber Society Agent) and already have an experienced pokemon with them, they cannot use that pokemon unless it's for C.S.A. business!
Special characters will still start off in Pancaran Region like any new trainer and as such - unless it's to do with C.S. business - can only use the pokemon they get as a starter and any other pokemon they catch/gain throughout their journey.
Any member that has their character using their C.S. pokemon for anything else but C.S. business will result in an implementation of the four-strike ruling.
4. All NPCs can only be used by Staff Members. Legendary and plot pokemon, however, can only be used by the Admin (Oranushi & the Aura Guardians, for example). Staff Members are also to stick to the profiles of NPCs. For example, if an NPC is as mean as they come, it wouldn't be logical if they all of a sudden started being all goody-goody.
5. 'Blessed' pokemon are pokemon that have been 'touched' by Oranushi's Aura abilities in one way or another. Blessed pokemon all have markings similar to Oranushi's and know the move Aura Sphere, even if that pokemon wouldn't normally be able to learn that move. The move cannot be deleted or unlearned!
These pokemon can be found throughout the region in the wild, however how often they are found depends on location. For example; you'll find the highest concentration of these pokemon in Oraseye Forest, but for a location such as Route 501 finding a Blessed pokemon would be very rare. You'd have to be VERY lucky to find such a pokemon in such a location.
6. Staff Members = God. So whatever a Staff Member says, it happens whether you like it or not. If they say there's a storm, there's a storm. If they say something gets thrown at your character, something gets thrown. But it'll ultimately be up to you how your character reacts, since Staff obviously can't control your character (that'd be godmoding afterall and we don't like that, do we? ).
7. All roleplay threads by default are considered private roleplays unless otherwise stated in both title and first post, or if you invite a character. Unless you've been given permission or been invited to join a specific roleplay thread, you are not allowed to join it.
With Gym Battles/Pokemon League, there can be only one challenger at a time. If your character is traveling with others and doesn't mind them joining the thread, the rest of the group can be on the sidelines as spectators cheering and supporting their friend, but they cannot get involved in the gym battles, especially Gym Leader battles.
If your character would rather challenge the gym alone, then their fellow travelers will just have to wait until they're done fighting the gym.
------
Character & Profile Rules
1. All character profiles must have at least one paragraph for personality and appearance, whereas history must have at least two paragraphs.
With Special character profiles, the roleplay example must be at least two paragraphs long.
2. Your character won't know everything about pokemon. They might know little things here and there, but not everything!
Special characters are a slight exception to this rule, as they may very well be more experienced than most. However, they may know more than a regular trainer, but they still won't know everything.
3. You may create a character that's been 'blessed' by Oranushi, however only people from Pancaran are allowed to be such. It is also to be noted that such people are not common, which means that only a couple of 'blessed' characters will be allowed on the site. As the site grows though, more 'blessed' characters will be allowed.
'Blessed' people will also be able to have some ability with Aura, however not everyone will be a complete natural with it. A person will need to be trained in using and controlling Aura to have any real skill with it.
4. Your character cannot be a pokemon. Pokemorphs however are allowed, but like 'Blessed' people they are not a common sight. 'Blessed' pokemorphs at this moment in time do not exist, but that's not to say this might not change in the future.
5. Characters can only carry SIX pokemon in their party at one time. Eggs do not count as pokemon, but only one egg can be carried at one time.
With Special characters that already have a pokemon with them (such as Secret agents), they still have the six pokemon limit meaning that excluding the one they already have they can only have five other pokemon.
6. All members are allowed one normal character and one special character.
Staff Members though are allowed either;
two normal characters and one special character
-OR-
one normal character and two special characters.
------
Leveling, Evolution & Egg Hatching Rules
1. Pokemon leveling goes as follows;
-Pokemon lvl 1 - 20
earn one level for every opponent defeated.
-Pokemon lvl 21 - 40
earn one level for every two opponents defeated.
-Pokemon lvl 41 - 60
earn one level for every three opponents defeated.
-Pokemon lvl 61 - 80
earn one level for every four opponents defeated.
-Pokemon lvl 81 - 100
earn one level for every five opponents defeated.
2. For Gym Leader and Pokemon League battles however, the following happens;
-Pokemon lvl 1 - 20
earn two levels for every opponent defeated.
-Pokemon lvl 21 - 40
earn two levelsl for every two opponents defeated.
-Pokemon lvl 41 - 60
earn two levels for every three opponents defeated.
-Pokemon lvl 61 - 80
earn two levels for every four opponents defeated.
-Pokemon lvl 81 - 100
earn two levels for every five opponents defeated.
3. When a pokemon reaches the appropriate level it evolves at, it can choose the evolve the moment it reaches that level or it can wait and evolve later on at any point in the future (as long as the pokemon is in your party, of course).
4. With stone-evolutions, a trainer must have the appropriate stone and then present it In-character to the appropriate pokemon (the pokemon should be in your party in the first place). For the evolution to work however, the pokemon must touch the stone to evolve. If the pokemon doesn't wish to evolve, then it just doesn't have to touch the stone.
5. With trade-evolutions, these do exist as all Pokemon Centers have special machines that allow trainers to trade pokemon between each other. This can only work though if the two trainers are in the same Pokemon Center at the same time.
To do this, members are to post In-Character in a Pokemon Center thread. Also make sure that a pokemon that needs to hold a trade-evolution item is holding the appropriate item they need, or the trade-evolution obviously won't work.
6. When an egg is given to a character, they are given a date the egg hatches on In-character. If the character carries the egg with them, the hatch date is shortened by three days. If they don't, the egg will hatch at the Pokemon Lab on the given hatch date.
------
Battling Rules
1. All rules from the games apply. Meaning that your pokemon can only know four moves at one time, and each pokemon gets one turn per post (in both single and double team battles).
2. Battles are done like the TV series. You can roleplay out how a pokemon acts when using a move or how they react when they're being attacked. You can also roleplay how your character reacts as well.
3. When using an item from your bag, doing so takes up your pokemon's turn for that post. For an item your pokemon is holding, such as berries or a special hold item like Shell Bell, if they are used they do not take up a pokemon's turn in a post.
Note: These rules will be changed or added to in the future, so check back often in case any of these rules have been changed or new ones added.
